This painting depicts a working farm located in Yolo County, not too far from UC Davis where I went to school in the heart of California’s well known Central Valley. Summer time means these fertile fields yield the types of tomatoes to be processed at nearby canneries, a major crop in this area. Next year these same fields will be rotated with sunflowers, corn, or alfalfa; so a new landscape always inspires me create a new painting.
